This is a really amazing Opalized Clam! A long long time ago this clam died and was basically petrified by sand and opal. This only occurs when something is in a very rich opal environment for a long period of time, and the right mixture of minerals are in the area to Opalize something! Great flash, color, and just overall shape on this clam, this is a good size piece exhibiting some rarer colors and a lot of flash!
