One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. This is a parcel of Wet Ethiopian opal I decided to experiment with. I wanted to see if I could stabilize this material without it crazing. Crazing is when it cracks. Instead of taking it out of water and letting it dry out, I slowly took the moisture out of it over momths. The crazing was minimal and there is still amazing flash. These are best left out of water as they will expand like a sponge and crack more if exposed to water. 1 big piece and a medium piece for $100! Would have been much more if they were still wet, but I wanted to experiment!
