Azurite and malachite were among the most notable early mineral specimens found at Morenci, prized for their vibrant blue and green colors. These minerals formed as secondary copper minerals, a byproduct of the oxidation of copper sulfide ores. Early miners and collectors began salvaging these specimens, especially as interest in mineral collecting grew in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This one was salvaged beautiful and is a complete, fully formed rosette of brightly colored, bladed azurite crystals. 5 x 4 x 3.5 cm. $800. Available on @over_100_dollar_gems @arizona_minerals_only

Halite from Camp Verde, Arizona! Well known for the Glauberite, ‘desert roses’, and aragonite pseudomorphs—halite is surprising uncommon at the salt mines, I think largely due to the lack of moisture. But this is a fine example of the species from this location. Slightly blue hue, and well defined cubic growth. Definitely an older specimen out of the Dodd collection. Grab this one for $95.

These are stacked prisms of chatoyant, fibrous malachite, that look very dendritic. I love the separation of crystals with space in between. Top-notch display peice. Ex Kristale. Ex Clem Smith. $300. @over_100_dollar_gems

Turquoise from Kingman, Arizona. This is a raw specimen that has not been stabilized. Stabilized turquoise is basically infused with plastic so it can be used in lapidary etc. This is a natural stone which is slightly chalky, but has that beautiful turquoise color, and even a natural slick on one side. Great collectors specimen for $85.
